During my first visit to Burlington back in 2018 I had taken a huge risk by driving up to Vermont to see this boy I had been talking to for two months. I was scared and not sure where the relationship would go but I loved risks, saw something special in him and everything else in life was like shifting ground so I figured I couldn’t lose much.

After a day in the magical Vermont, we took the plunge and called it a relationship (spoiler: we’re now married). At the end of my 5 days in Vermont, I was in love with Vermont, I thought I was in love with Ben and in the midst of all of this change , did what most people say you shouldn’t do in the midst of huge life shifts: GOT BANGS.

Ben connected me with our dear friend Kaila Ward who squeezed me in for an afternoon cut. While sitting in her chair, she listened to my anxieties about where life had taken me up until this moment and after 2 hours, I had the cutest shag cut and felt like a new human. She’s helped me maintain the new change, keep my hair healthy and even fixed my hair after I went through a horrid mid-wedding life crisis and tried to go blonde two weeks before the big day. Love you always, Kaila.

Her studio is this beautiful space filled with dreamy natural light, bad ass lady hair stylists and owned by the Queens Cat and Sam. I spent a morning with these two and was honored to have produced these images.
